NARAL Pro-Choice Texas is currently recruiting new board members for the statewide NARAL Pro-Choice Texas and NARAL Pro-Choice Texas Foundation boards. Click here for an application.
The boards meet jointly in odd-numbered months via conference call with in-person meetings 1–2 times a year and travel assistance is provided. Time commitment is approximately 6–8 hours/month, depending on activities/committees.
Board members are expected to assist the staff with fundraising and outreach throughout the year, counsel the Executive Director and provide fiscal oversight of the organization. Training, materials and support are provided. No prior board experience is necessary. All skills, experience, and talent will be considered.
We are seeking applicants from all educational and professional backgrounds and welcome applicants with life experiences that reflect the populations who struggle most to access reproductive healthcare. We are especially encourage people of color, LGBTQ+ and immigrants to apply. Applicants are welcome from all areas of Texas, however for this year’s recruiting we are looking to increase board representation in West Texas, the Rio Grande Valley, Houston, San Antonio & Dallas-Ft Worth or rural areas of Texas.
